If we can only Imagine

In the end ~It is our legacy that carries on

The Paul McManus Jr. Memorial Inspiration Room was dedicated at the VOA shelter for Homeless Families on  March 6, 2007.

When Paul was on a business trip in San Diego, California in 2004, a homeless man approached him for money. Paul asked him if he was hungry.

The man said, " I am" Paul asked him where a good place to eat would be and invited him to join him for dinner. The man asked "You want me to have dinner with you?" Paul said, "Yes, I do" ~They proceeded to a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a fine dinner and conversation together. When they got up to leave, the man said " I will never forget you, thank you for your kindness, I wish I could repay you someday."

Paul said,  " I am alone here and it was nice to have company for dinner, Thank You.  Here is $10.00 for later." I never forgot that touching story.

In February 2007, there was a story on the news, that the Homeless shelter that was about to open in Rochester, NY had one room and a library left to be dedicated.

Thus, the Paul Jr. Inspirational Memorial Room was born. This room and library has provided much comfort to those who are temporarily homeless. There are many books that were donated by several families for the library. Thank you and God Bless those who have shared this vision with me.

Welcome to our room~

The Inspiration Room
Dedicated in Memory of my son
Paul R. McManus Jr.
Paul was a kind, caring, generous man who lost his life suddenly on July 21st, 2006  after moving to N. Carolina.
He was walking home from the welcoming party given by his friends and was killed as a pedestrian by a drunken driver.
Paul was a gifted humanitarian who could comfort anyone with his gift of words.
He inspired little children to the old aged.
He related to every social class, race and background.
He read the bible, loved music and expressed gratitude for the blessings in his life.
He was inspired by people’s life stories and would listen for hours if someone needed someone to talk to...as a humble man.
I wish he was still with us to carry on his work…
So ,as he watches over us from heaven
I find it an honor to participate and share his loving legacy
In a way that he would be proud of……
May you find comfort and be inspired by this room
In memory of my son, Paul Jr.

Always reflecting

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 NIV
